We offer spanish classes for learners at every level, from beginner to advanced. Classes meet once a week for 90 minutes. These classes are a great low-cost option for spanish learners throughout New York City!
In our beginner classes, you will learn how to write and talk about yourself and your family, as well as learn simple spanish expressions to carry on a basic conversation. You will learn the vocabulary needed for a variety of different settings, including asking for directions, telling the date and time, going shopping, and conversing over the phone. You will also learn the past, present, and continuous verb tenses.
In our intermediate classes, you will learn to use the past, present, future, continuous, and perfect tenses to talk about yourself and your family, as well as communicate and further elaborate on your thoughts and ideas. You will learn the vocabulary needed for more complex situations including interviewing for a job, speaking with your boss, visiting the doctor’s office, paying your bills, etc. You will read the newspaper and discuss and write about current events. You will improve your reading and writing skills and feel more comfortable conversing with native spanish speakers.
In our advanced classes, the focus is on spoken spanish, writing, idioms, and advanced sentence structure and grammar. You will improve your spanish language skills to convey the exact thoughts and ideas you want to express. Discussions on current events, challenging readings, and other materials will be used to help you improve your fluency and increase your confidence in communicating in spanish for a variety of different situations and settings.
