Registration Night for Spring Language Classes

Together One New York Spring Classes begin the week of March 25th.

Join us at our Registration Night on Monday, March 25th, from 5:30-8:00pm, when teachers will be onsite to answer questions about the various classes offered. Staff members will also be available to assist students with the enrollment process.

The language program calendar includes four levels each of English/ESOL & Spanish courses, five English conversation classes, and a Russian language course for beginners.

Free placement tests will be administered to help students determine the best course level.

In addition to low-cost language classes, students can register for a variety of tuition-free programs including Citizenship and TASC classes.

ESL Beginner

In this class, you will learn how to write and talk about yourself and your family, as well as learn simple English expressions to carry on a basic conversation. You will learn the vocabulary needed for a variety of different settings, including asking for directions, telling the date and time, going shopping, and conversing over the phone. You will also learn the past, present, and continuous verb tenses.

ESL Beginner

In this class, you will learn how to write and talk about yourself and your family, as well as learn simple English expressions to carry on a basic conversation. You will learn the vocabulary needed for a variety of different settings, including asking for directions, telling the date and time, going shopping, and conversing over the phone. You will also learn the past, present, and continuous verb tenses.

ESL Intermediate 1

In this class, you will learn to use the past, present, future, continuous, and perfect tenses to talk about yourself and your family, as well as communicate and further elaborate on your thoughts and ideas. You will learn the vocabulary needed for more complex situations including interviewing for a job, speaking with your boss, visiting the doctor’s office, paying your bills, etc. You will read the newspaper and discuss and write about current events. You will improve your reading and writing skills and feel more comfortable conversing with native English speakers.

ESL Intermediate 1

In this class, you will learn to use the past, present, future, continuous, and perfect tenses to talk about yourself and your family, as well as communicate and further elaborate on your thoughts and ideas. You will learn the vocabulary needed for more complex situations including interviewing for a job, speaking with your boss, visiting the doctor’s office, paying your bills, etc. You will read the newspaper and discuss and write about current events. You will improve your reading and writing skills and feel more comfortable conversing with native English speakers.
