"Night of Ghost Stories" Arrives on Tuesday, October 30th
Ghost stories are part of the folklore of many cultures around the world. Whether it’s La Llorona in Latin America, Kuchisake-onna in Japan, Jiang Shi in China, or the many tales told in the United States of the dead returning to haunt the places they left behind, the sharing of these stories of spirits is a surefire way to send chills down the spines of listeners.
On Tuesday, October 30th, from 6:30 to 9pm, the Together One New York Language Exchange, located at 422 West 57th Street, will be transformed into “A Night of Ghost Stories.” It’s the latest installment in our celebration of the season of Halloween. Legends of the supernatural will serve as the theme for a most terrifying night of language immersion. For attendees who’d like to tell a haunting tale, you can try your hand at giving others a good scare in a language you’re learning; or share a story in your native tongue.
In addition to general conversation practice, participants can choose from discussion topics related to the ghoulish customs and traditions commonplace this time of year. It’s Halloween after all! The lights will be dimmed in our Language Exchange Lounge, and some spooky effects will be in place, so expect the unexpected when you enter...
Admission is only $3. Refreshments included!
